What is your why? Why are you looking to quit your job? Why do you want to start your own business? What is your why, business owners?
By this time we have already spoken about embracing your current situation, accepting the present and moving onto your future by breaking the chains of your life-consuming job saying “goodbye job. Today I leave you in the past” and starting your own business.
The next step now is understanding Your Why, your core motivations.
Some of you might have heard or read this question before and you probably know what your why is, or perhaps you may not even know what I actually mean when I ask you “what is your why?”.
So let’s Start with Why…
Why is a simple but yet, powerful word. I used to be the “why” little girl with an endless curiosity that questioned everything and everyone around me.
In fact, the word Why has had a powerful effect on each stage of my life, from helping me understand things and people better, to helping me make decisions -sometimes big decisions- to also causing conflicts that made me wonder the true nature of human beings. For example, when I was 14, on my last year of high school, it was suggested (more mandatory than suggested but anyway) that we do the confirmation before we ended school. So I attended the “confirmation weekly meetings” at my school’s catholic church.
At a certain point we would read the bible, there were so many things coming out of that book and so many things said (according to their own interpretation that it just did not resonated with my own beliefs, I could not comprehend WHY they were saying what they were saying, so I would ask questions out of genuine curiosity because I truthfully wanted to understand their Why) This landed me being told that the devil was within me because I was asking too many why’s and I was sent to pray 12 ave maria’s & “holy father’s prayer.
Maybe someone wiser would have been able to handle my questions smartly but anyway this has been a huge introduction so let’s keep things rolling…
When I ask you “what is your why?” what is the first thing that you think about? Is it maybe something like Why do I do what I do? Why am I here on this planet? Why do I want to quit my job? Why do I really want to start my own business? Why did I create my company? Why do I wake up every morning? Why do I do what I do?
WHY do I ask so many questions??
Because I am convinced that understanding Your Why is VITAL, crucial, mandatory not only in your business, but in your life.
For example, Simon Sinek with his best seller Start with Why, verbalizes the principles of understanding you why, and provides you with examples of big companies that understand their why and are now SUCCEEDING in business (i.e.: apple). On the other hand, Anthony Robbins himself is the ‘Why man’. He is passionate about understanding the human behavior and Why we do what we do?, if you have read any of his books or listened to any of his audios like “Get To The Edge and Live with Passion” you will perfectly understand what I mean.
Before starting or getting into business, one first must understand at heart what matters to people as human beings.
Because people are not business. Business is people and… people don’t follow what you do but WHY you do it.
Having a strong why, is like having a strong foundation for what it is that you want to build. Also because if you don’t have a strong reason WHY you are doing something, then why should you keep doing it?
Your why becomes your passion and when your enthusiasm is evident, people want a ticket to your happy train. Understand your Why and you would have harnessed your passion.
Your Why is going to be your armour and your spade, making you invincible when the time comes to face challenges. Only when you find and understand your why you will find the courage to take risks, to take massive action and get ahead. On the other side, it is really easy to quit something when you don’t know why you are doing it.
As Frederick Nietzsche said:
If something doesn’t matter, if something doesn’t have a powerful why, or that vision and essence within it. People will not be motivated to follow it. Remember, people operate on motivation.
How do I find my why?
As an entrepreneur and business owner your why MUST be something you totally believe in, something you are passionate about, something you love, something that inspires you or something you are willing to fight for, no matter what. Something that when you talk about, someone else can see the passion and the fire in your eyes. Something that gives you a sense of drive and purpose.
So please, ask yourself again “what is my why?” “Why do I want to start my own business?”. Write your little own story and then ask yourself again “Why?” and answer it with “Because…”. Do this over and over again until you get to your main reason. Your core. Your inspiration. Your heart. That moment when something hits you and your heart is pumping hard or tears start rolling down your face or you just can’t stop laughing. Just get there, get to your core and find your answers.
Yes, understanding your why is a journey within yourself. So you just need to let things flow, forget about being self-aware, just let it flow and take your time. Stop only when you know you have gotten to your core.
Trust me, You’ll know when you’ve gotten to your real why. You will feel it.
Now I’m going to do a short example with my own story. Replace my story with yours and then carry on with the exercise :)….
Here we go.
A brief summary of my story:
I inspire, motivate, and mentor people to take inspired action to become entrepreneurs and create a business and a lifestyle they love. I mentor entrepreneurs to strategically manage their businesses so they can have the time-freedom and the abundance to create a life they love next to their love ones.
Because I have experienced the pain of working on a job that consumed my life and it didn’t give me the chance to spend valuable time with the most important person in the world, my mum.
Because I’ve learnt through the loss of my mom -and my own self- that there are more important things in life than just a fancy job, a status and a great salary. So I use the skills I’ve gained and my experience as my platform.
Because I care about people, their situations, their jobs and their professions and how they can improve their lives and I wish everyone to be happy, what really matters to me is them and their lives even If I don’t know them. If I can do something to help them better their lives I am happy and at peace with myself.
Because I was there once. I was scared, I wanted to do something different but I didn’t know what to do. I thought I only know so much and that my Doctor’s skills were limiting the possibilities of starting another career, let alone starting my own business. I felt lost and confused but I was too scared to ask and I wished someone guided me during those uncertain moments. So I am that person now, the older sister, the mentor, the soul spoken woman that walks them to create the business of their lives.
Because I know EVERYONE has the skills and what is needed within themselves to create a business and a lifestyle they love, this is a world of endless possibilities that we all have access to, and I Believe anyone can do it if they have the right guidance.
Because I come from that place where I was surrounded by the most beautiful love and care, where the perception of obstacles were seem as challenges to have fun with. Where, even when the doctors said I would be blind, deaf and with cognitive problems. I had a woman who walked me through all of the challenges imagined with the upmost strength. A woman who challenged the status quo and society when times were mean to single mothers. A woman who ran her own business and sat strong and lovingly in front of her patients only a couple of days before passing away, a woman who touched and changed many lives, a woman that with the power of her love and belief made me who I am now.
Because it was with my mother that I learnt to believe in others and that there isn’t anything more powerful than genuine courageous love to help, to serve.
Because to me this is more than just business, this is about the people and the lives I know I can impact to make a difference and help make this world a better place.
Because that is where my heart is. It makes me feel happy and blessed. This is my purpose.
** If you’re asking yourself “What is my purpose in life?” Then read this Quick guide to finding your purpose in life in 5 minutes.**
If you continue without having this question answered on at least 6 different levels down, a couple of things can happen; either you find yourself hating what you’re doing or your life or, you will just quit when things get tough, or you will continue to pursue the next big deal. There are more examples but in synthesis those are my examples.
Not sure what you are passionate about?
Asking why and understanding it will unveil the real you. It is the purpose behind everything you do. If you’re looking at some clues as to your whys then look over your old journals, your facebook statuses, fb posts, tweets, older blogs. Pay attention to conversation with your friends or family, to what you watch on TV, to the podcasts or radio stations you listen to, to the books you read.
Remember that box full of pictures and articles about the places you want to visit before you die?, or the notes from years ago where you wrote your dreams and potential business ideas. Poll your relatives, family and childhood and closest friends how you were when you were a child. Examine the challenges you have overcome and how you overcome them.
Because the better you know and understand yourself, the better and more successful you will be in business.
and well… why not?
You owe it to yourself to start doing what you really want to do, to start living the life you want to live, to create both a business and a lifestyle you love so get on your way! Start by understanding your why and your core motivations.
Love & Light,
“You can only become truly accomplished at something you love. Don’t make money your goal. Instead pursue the things you love doing, and then do them so well that people can’t take their eyes off of you.” ~ Maya Angelou
The 17 keys to be successful in life and business
How hard do you think it is to be successful in life and business?
better yet, do you really think is complicated to reach your goals?
What if I tell you that, it is not complex at all…
It might be challenging -yes- but if you do things on a certain way,
being successful in life and business can be easily achieved.
No, you do not have to google “Hey google will I be successful in life?”
or leave it to astrology and search your daily horoscope on the magazines
(Yes, people DOES search for those terms)
It doesn’t matter if you’re a libra or a leo,
it doesn’t matter if you have just graduated college
or if you are a high school drop-out.
Unlike the status-quo wants you to believe, this factors might be
important but are not vital to determine your success in life and business.
Because the truth is: You have EVERYTHING within yourself
to be successful in life and business.
Now let’s get to the fruit & juice of this blogpost…
Amelí, what are the keys to success?
There are many factors involved and actually, when I think
about the ultimate tips to be successful in life and business
a lot of ideas and factors come to my mind.
But as promised I’ll give you now the 27 ultimate tips to reach your goals
and succeed not only in your life but also in your business.
So, the first 3 undeniable rules to success are:
Key to success #1 – Trust and Believe in Yourself
All you need is within you now.
Do you realize that?
You have everything you need within yourself right now to be successful. Start today a journey of transformation, You have the chance to be successful in life and business to make your life completely different right now.
Key to success #2 – Learn to let go and move forward
“Let today be the day you learn the grace of letting go and the power of moving on”
~Dr. Steve Maraboli
Let me be clear, it is not that there is something holding you back. But instead what you think it;s holding you back… most of the time the clouds in our minds don’t let us see things as they really are, and they are usually simpler than we think.
So relieve the load from the past, let go, keep moving forward and fill your book with new experiences :).
Keys to Success #3: Have a Vision, Be Unrealistic
“Hold The vision, Trust the process”
Over the last posts we’ve been talking a bout this consistently. BELIEVE, have FAITH, and do whatever you need to do to make it happen.
Key to Success #4 – Dare to be Unrealistic
Or… think outside the box, Think BIG, set your goals base on what you really want. Because when you are
“realistic”you are basing your future based on past experiences. And if you create your future based on past experiences, you are not going to get anywhere. So Be Unrealisitic!. Ask yourself: “What do I really want?”
Key to Success #5 – Have a Plan, Get Directions.
It is vital to have a plan. You need to know where you are heading to and build your plan around it.
In here I’d like to quote Alice in Wonderland:
Chesshire Puss…Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?’
`That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,’ said the Cat.
`I don’t much care where–‘ said Alice.
`Then it doesn’t matter which way you go,’ said the Cat.
So, know where you are, know where you are heading to and head in that direction. The direction of achieving your goals and making your dreams come true.
Key to Success #6 – Set Goals
This is the same as knowing where you are going to.
Your goals are like the steps you need to take to get to your “Neverland”.
We have already spoke about the power of goal setting and its 8 golden rules, if you haven’t read it yet, go ahead and read it 🙂
Oh and btw, when you set your goals also consider these:
- K.I.S.S = Keep It Simple Stupid.
Seriously, just keep it simple. So instead of overcomplicating things. Break up your main big goal into smaller tasks, this will ensure you follow them step by step.
- S.M.A.R.T.S. =
Be Specific with your goals, be as detailed as possible as to what you want to achieve, write it down and use all of your senses when describing them.
Measure your goals: that is why is important that your goals are also specific so you can measure when you have accomplished them.
Achievable: Be aware that sometimes, we set ourselves up with huge goals that we feel out of our reach at that moment. So Yes, be Unrealistic with your goals, but at the same time draw a line and push yourself to the maximum limit only IF you are committed to do so. This is what I call, taking a calculated, smart risk.
Right & Relevant: To me is all about being true to yourself, we are talking about your life here! so make sure that when you are setting up your goals, do looking at the things that YOU REALLY want to do, give yourself that gift and for a moment think only about yourself, forget about please other people point of view, or following other people suggestions that don’t resonate with you, even if what they say sounds logical or “right” according to society. Just Be Truth to YOURSELF and ask yourself: What do I really want to do with my life? What do I really want? How achieving “this” goal is going to influence and improve my life? Be honest.
Time-bound: Make sure that you set a time frame as to the specific time when you want your goals to be achieved. You are the only one who can do this. Now, I recommend doing this after you have already mapped your plan. Consider the things around your life at the time, but ultimately is all about HOW BAD do you really want to achieve them? You and only you have the answer and you and only you have the power to succeed.
Simple: As I said before, Keep it Simple stupid :)!
Key to Success #7 – Practice Successful Habits
Wherever you are right now is a result of the habits you have.
Developing good successful habits is key to achieve our goals and ultimately to have the life we want. For this you also need to have self-discipline. Wake up early, dedicate at least 30 min per day to read relevant books, listen to audios or study the information relevant to what you want to achieve. Practice healthy habits, take care of your health, exercise, etc…
Key to Success #8 – Establish your own ‘non-negotiable’ rules
Ok, the whole point of creating your own goals is because you really want to achieve them, your goals are so strong that they inspire you and motivate you to wake up every morning and work towards them they are also so strong that when things get a bit hard you will push through! So I want you to be honest with yourself right now, and the point of establishing your own ‘non- negotiable’rules is for example: When you know you want to do a post in your blog, or finish the research for your presentation, or studying for that big exam next week and some of your friends come and tell you to ‘take a break’, relax or just ‘leave it there’for a second you say NO, I want to finish this not because I”have-to” but because I want to. Now, I am not saying go neglect your life and forget you have a life. Not at all! All I’m saying is: Learn to say now and put your feet down in the break when necessary. Plus, it is always rewarding to do something fun after you know you’ve done something that is taking you closer to your goal :).
Key to Success #9 – Be Flexible & Expect the Unexpected
As I said previously in this post. Learn to BE FLEXIBLE. Review your current actions, see if they are working if not, be open to change and take new actions, be flexible with your rules as long as they take you CLOSER to your goal.
Key to Success #10 – Embrace Failure
You need to be willing to fail. There are moments when you are going to learn and in others you’ll learn.
Failing is part of the process, it is how you learn, how you improve and how you also implement new strategies.
Key to Success #11 – Be Consistent & Comitted
Remember, CONSISTENCY is KEY. As long as your goals remain true to yourself, this step is actually easier.
Key to Success #12 – Find someone to be accountable with
Ask a friend, a partner, someone in your family if they can be accountable to you. Share with them how they can help you, tell them what you are trying to achieve and what are your rules. So if at any moment you feel like leaving something for later, or tempted to do other things. They will be there helping you to push through and reminding you why you should continue and do what you need to do:).
Key to Success #13 – Push your Limits & get out of your comfort zone
It’s not always going to be easy. But I’ll tell you what? It will always be rewarding. BE willing to push through, look for new ideas and get out of your comfort zone. That is the only way you’ll grow.
Key to Success #14 – Strive for Progress, not for perfection
If all of our lives and existence would be perfect everything will be freaking boring! So strive for progress, action beats inaction. You will improve and “perfectionate’as you go through but just DO!.
Key to Success #15 – Teach what you learn . Give something back
“People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care” – John Maxwell
To have knowledge is not enough, the best way to learn is by teaching others and sharing what you know. So if you want to learn more, give and share more. Great leaders always inspire not only with what they do but with what they teach.
Key to Success #16 – Be Grateful
I can’t emphasize enough the importance and relevancy of being grateful. Be grateful for who you are, for what you have, for what you are doing, for waking up every morning because every day is an opportunity to do things better, to improve your life and the life of others. Be grateful for your friends, for the people around you – whether you love them or whether they are not connected to you- because everything my friend… EVERYTHING happens for a reason and as long as you are learning, you are growing. So be grateful 🙂
Key to Success #17 – Take Massive Action
To truly succeed one must be an action taker. There is no point on knowing all of these principles if you don’t take action.
Results come from action. And it is your results that speak better than anything you say. So take ACTION! Your life is awaiting 🙂
Finally, remember that the only difference between Successful People and unsuccessful people is Discipline, Consistency and Taking Action!
Now that you know the 17 keys to be successful in life and business, all you need is the right mindset and the right tools! If you’re looking for the right tools you can use some basic tools I share here . By implementing them and getting further education I have managed to live a life of financial and time freedom. So go ahead and take MASSIVE ACTION today!
See you tomorrow!
Love & Light,
Have you read Rich Dad, Poor Dad from Robert Kiyosaki?
The first time I read “RichDad, Poor Dad”, it was probably
between my 14 or 15’s I LOVE reading and this kind of
books were always part of our shelves thanks to mum.
Mum always ensure that we feed our minds with valuable
information besides what I learnt at school, I was a curious
little girl and she always allowed me to express myself
and respected my own –sometimes weird– opinions.
Oh mum, you always gave me the right foundation for my success.
I guess I was being a wealthypreneur without even knowing
what being a wealthypreneur meant back then.
Ok, let’s get back on track! :P… To be honest, it has already
been 12 years since I read it for the first time and I couldn’t
Since last year up until now I’ve listened to the “rich dad, poor dad”
audiobook probably about 10 times, and just recetly I decided
to buy the book again and read it. This time, in english.
(FYI, I’m from Peru so the first time I read it, it was in Spanish)
I started reading the book 2 days ago, and I don’t wanna finish it!
One of my rules is listen to an audio for about 1 hr and read for
about 1 hour. I usually do this right after my morning meditation,
as soon as I wake up. It is one of my rituals.
So yes, you might be saying… Ameli, you spend 2 hours reading
and listening to audios?… 2 HOURS??!!!
YES, and I call this Investing in myself. I know that my mindset
and my time are my biggest asset so I choose to invest in them
to then, apply what I know not only in businesses, but also in
my life. Nowadays time for me is not a problem anymore as I am
a full time online entrepreneur so I can distribute my time as I please.
Of course, I get distracted sometimes!
Now before I say anything else, I’ll share with you some of
my favourite and …
Powerful quotes from “Rich Dad, Poor Dad”
“One dad would say: “The love for money is the root of all evil”. The other one, “The LACK of money is the root of all evil”. (Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki).
“Learn to Manage Risk” (Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki).
“There is a difference between being poor and being broke. Broke is temporary, and poor is eternal”(Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki).
“Take it or leave it. I’ve got too much work to do to waste my time. If you can’t make up your mind decisively, then you;ll never learn to make money anyway. OPPORTUNITES COME AND GO. Being able to know when to make a quick decisions is an important skill” (Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki).
#5 For when you blame your boss or someone else about situations in YOUR LIFE
“You’d Best Change your point of view. Stop blaming me, thinking I’m the problem. If you think I’m the problem, then you have to change me. If you realize that you ‘re the problem, then you can change yourself, learn something and grow wiser. Most people want everyone else in the world to change but themselves. Let me tell you, it’s easier to change yourself than everyone else”. (Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki).
“The avoidance of money is just as psychotic as being attached to money” (Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki).
#7 For those moments when emotions like fear or anxiety seem to gain control…
“Emotions are what make us human. Make us real. The word ’emotion’ stands for energy in motion. Be truthful about your emotions, and use your mind and emotions in your favour, not against yourself. (Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki).
“‘Will a job be the best solution to this fear (the fear of not having enough money) over the long run?’ In my opinion, the answer is ‘no’. Especially when you look over a person’s lifetime. A job is really a short-term solution to a long-term problem” (Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki).
“I want to teach you to master the power of money. Not ne afraid of it. And they don’t teach you that in school. If you don’t learn it, you become a slave to money”. (Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki).
“Once a person stops searching for information and knowledge of one’s self, ignorance sets in. That struggle is a moment-to-moment decision- to learn to open or close one’s mind.” (Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki).
“Unfortunately for many people, school is the end, not the beginning” (Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki).
#12 Understanding assets and liabilities:
“Rich people acquire assets. The poor and middle class acquire liabilities they think are assets” (Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki).
“An asset puts money in your pocket. A liability takes money from your pocket” (Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki).
#14 Are you in a debt?, keeep this in mind…
“If you find yourself in a hole. Stop digging” (Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki).
“Mind your own business. Financial struggle is often directly the result of people working all their life for someone else. Many people will have nothing at the end of their working days”(Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki).
#16 – About Professions, Businesses and your Career….
“There is a big difference between your profession and your business. I often ask people “What is your business?” And they will say “Oh, I’m a banker”. Then, I ask them if they own the bank? And they usually respond “No, I work there” (…) A problem with school is that you often become what you study (…) The mistale in becoming what you study is that too many people forget to mind their own business. They spend their lives minding someone else’s business and making that person rich” (Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki).
“When I say mind your own business, I mean to build and keep your asset column strong”(Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki).
“We all have tremendous potential and we all are blessed with gifts. Yet, the one thing that hold us back is some degree of self-doubt” (Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki).
“In the real world outside of academics, something more than just grades is required (…) This factor, whatever it is labeled, ultimately decides one’s future more than school grades ” (Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki).
“Often, in the real world is not the smart that get ahead, but the bold” (Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki).
“I’d rather be welcoming change than dreading change”(Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki).
“Land was wealth 300 years ago. So the person who owned the land owned the wealth. Then, it was factories and production, and America rose to dominance. TODAY, it is information. And the person who has the most timely information owns the wealth” (Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki).
#23 For people who refuse to change…
“Old ideas are their biggest liability. It is a liability simply because they fail to realize that while that idea or way of doing something was an asset yesterday, yesterday is gone”(Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki).
“Rich people are often creative and take calculated risks”(Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki).
#25 – Reasons to increase your financial intelligence…
“Few people realize that luck is created. Just as money is. And if you want to be luckier and create money instead of working hard, then your financial intelligence is important. If you are the kind of person who is waiting for the “right” thing to happen, you might wait for a long time. It’s like waiting for all the traffic lights to be green for five miles before starting the trip”(Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki).
“The single most powerful asset we all have is our mind. If it’s trained well, it can create enormour wealth (…) An untrained mind can also create extreme poverty that lasts lifetimes by teaching it to their families” (Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki).
“So why develop your financial genius? Only you can answer that (…) I develop my financial IQ because I want to participate in the fastest game and the biggest game in the world. (…) That is why I invest in my financial intelligence, developing the most powerful asset I have. I want to be with people moving boldly forward. I do not want with those left behind.” (Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki).
“Simple math and common sense is all that is needed to do well financially”(Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki).
“Great opportunities are not seen with your yes, they are seen with your mind. Most people never get wealthy because they are not trained financially to recognize opportunities right in front of them (…) To find an opportunity that everyone else has missed. You see with your mind what others miss with their eyes”(Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki).
#29 – Taking the road to financial freedom…
“Always remember to have fun. This is only a game. Sometimes you win and sometimes you learn. But have fun. Most people never win because they are more afraid of losing. That is why I found school so silly. In school we learn that mistakes are bad, and we are punished for making them. Yet, if you look at the way humans are designed to learn, we learn by making mistakes. We learn to walk by falling down. If we never fell down, we would never walk. The same is true for learning to ride a bike. (…) The same is true for getting rich. Unfortunately, the main reason most people are not reach is because they are terrified of losing. Winners are not afraid of losing. But losers are. Failure is part of the process of success. People who avoid failure also avoid success” (Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki).
“It is what you know that is your greatest wealth. It is what you do not know that is your greatest risk. There is always risk, so learn to manage risk instead of avoid it.”(Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki)
#31 – What is financial Intelligence?
“Financial intelligence is a synergy of accounting, investing, marketing and law. Combine those four technical skills and making money with money is easier. “(Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki)
#32 – About a “JOB”
“Job is an acronym for Just Over Broke” (Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki)
“Workers work hard enough to not be fired, and owners pay just enough so that workers won’t quit” And if you look at the pay scales of most companies, again I would say there is a degree of truth in that statement” (Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki)
” The net results is that most workers never get ahead. They do what they’ve taught to do: “get a secure job.” Most workers focus on working for oay and benefits that reward them in the short term, but is often disastrous in the long run” (Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki)
#35 – Before choosing your career path…
“Instead I recommend to young people to seek work for what they will learn, more than what they will earn. Look down the road at what skills they want to acqure before choosing a specific profession and before getting trapped in the “Rat Race”(Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki)
#36 – What is the Rat Race??
“Once people are trapped in the lifelong process of billpaying, they become like those little hamsters running around in those little metal wheels. Their little furry legs are spinning furiously, the wheel is turning furiusly, but come tomorrow morning, they’ll still be in the same cage: great job”(Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki)
#37 – So, what to do??
“When I speak to adults who want to earn more money, I always recommend the same thing (…) Often I recommend joining a network marketing company, also called multilevel marketing, if they ant to learn sales skills. Some of these companies have excellent training programs that help people get over their fear of failure and rejection, which are the main reasons people are unsuccesful. EDUCATION is more valuable than money, in the long run”(Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki)
“The reason so many talented people are poor is because they focus on building a “better hamburguer” (using the example of McDonald’s) and know little to nothing about business systems” (Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki)
“My poor dad said, “you need to know a lot about one specialty.” My rich dad said, “you need to learn a little about a lot of things”. (Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki)
“Poor dad wanted me to specialize. That was his view on how to be paid more. Even after being told by the governor of Hawaii that he could no longer work in state government (…) He never understood that the more specialized you become, the more you are trapped and dependent on that specialty”. (Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki)

“Today, don’t play it safe, play it smart”(Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki)
“Awaken the financial genious that lies within you. Your genious is waiting to come out” (Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki)
After 4 days reading this book again, I’ve to admit I felt
a bit bumped when Robert said “Thank You for reading this book”
it is such a good book and there is so much great info that
I didn’t want to finish it. But, at the same time… There are more
books to read and knowledge to acquire.
As You might very well understand now, Your mindset is your biggest asset
fill it with the right information. But also, it’s not only about new information
and learning but also about TAKING ACTION towards the new things
I hope you understand that “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” it is not about
real estateor the share market. Robert gives this as his examples because
it is his business and his passion and he knows how to play the game of money.
Whatever your career is, and the path you have chosen – or ar about to choose-
make sure you add in some of the skills Robert mentions all along his book
and that I’ve tried to quote in this post.
Remember… TAKE ACTION towards the opportunites in front of you!
That is what I did to get out of my “rat race”, and now I’m able to work
from home -or wherever I happen to be- from my computer, build my
empire. It is normal to feel confused at the beginning, it is normal to feel
fear and it is normal to fail. Failure is the way to success and as long
as you Learn, it is not failure. So TAKE ACTION, do it for yourself
for the life you deserve and for what you want to achieve. I share some of the
the education I’ve acquired about building my own business,
marketing, branding, selling on my private facebook group that you can access for free.
So you can learn some vital steps to Succeed in business!

Love & Light,
What is the Power of goal setting?
Well, everything starts as an idea that then,
with the right amount of work, will materialize.
When we set goals, we are are designing the
future in advance, we are creating our destiny.
Your goals need to be so strong that you look forward
every morning to get out of bed and work on them.
There’s no right or wrong when setting your own goals
the only condition is that they HAVE TO inspire you,
they have to be compelling so that when things go hard
they motivate you to keep going and when you attain them
they help you grow and become a better person.
Your goals should be in alignment with your values and
are created specifically to transform your life and bring
it to the next level.
HOW TO SET COMPELLING, INSPIRING GOALS
In order to set compelling and inspiring goals, these are the
golden rules you need to follow:
- CLARITY. Your goals need to be clear, detailed
and as specific as you can make them. The detailed
they are, the better. Also, you must have a specific
plan of action for their attainment.
In other words, HAVE A CLEAR VISION & A CLEAR PLAN.
- KNOW YOUR WHY. This Step is VITAL because
You can have all of the resources you need, the books,
the information, the people, the support, everything
you need to succeed with your goals BUT if you don’t
know WHY you are doing it, if you don’t know WHY
you are moving towards your goals, then it is rare that
you are going to succeed.
So ask yourself, WHY do I want to achieve this goals?
What is the main reason I created them?
You must be absolutely clear about your why,
- KNOW YOUR HOW. This step is as important as
knowing your why. You MUST have a plan of action,
know HOW you are going to make those goals happen.
In order to know which direction you are going to take,
you must know where you are at. So have a plan of action,
a strategy, this doesn’t mean that once you develop your
plan of action it will stay like that forever, no! You need
to be flexible, and it is for sure that along the way some
things will change, so leave room for improvement.
- BELIEVE & HAVE FAITH. Once you have a clear
mental image of what your goals are, the plan of action
you are going to follow and you know why you are going
to pursue this goals, you MUST have absolute total faith
and trust that you WILL Do it. Don’t get me wrong, I’m
not saying “all you need is believe, trust & pixie dust”
but just know that YOU MUST Believe in Yourself, in Your
goals, in that no matter what happens, you will succeed!.
- THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX. I am sure that you have
probably heard about the SMART goals. A lot of people
talk about them. I like them, is a good foundation but I do
not agree with them at all. WHY? This is Why…
I don’t agree with the “Realistic” side of having Smart goals
because when you think “realistically” you are limiting
yourself and the endless possibilities in the universe.
Because when you think “real” you are basing your future
on past experiences and if you base your future based on
the past you’re simply going to get anywhere.
Just be creative when setting your goals, there are no limits.
Be BOLD and create exciting, compelling goals.
- KEEP A DAILY REVIEW JOURNAL,
Yes… keep a journal from moment zero, from
the very very beginning. Do you remember that
I previously said everything starts with an idea?
Well, a journal is going to be one of your most
powerful tools to brainstorm and write more ideas
down, your progress, what is working or not.
Start by writing your goals there, map out your
plan of action.
It doesn’t matter if it looks messy, it doesn’t matter
if you write here and there, as long as YOU
UNDERSTAND IT and you know
what is there it is fine :)!
Also, REVIEW YOUR GOALS DAILY
- BE FLEXIBLE, Be Adaptable. As Charles Darwin
said: “It’s not the strongest of the species that
survives, nor the most intelligent, it is the one that
is most adaptable to CHANGE“. Things are always
changing and a strategy what works today may not
be working tomorrow. So be flexible, and ALWAYS
leave room for improvement..
“Stay committed to your decisions but stay flexible in
your approach” (Anthony Robbins).
- BE CONSISTENT. Consistency is KEY. Nothing
was ever achieved by merely luck or overnight and with
no efforts. Every success requires an amount of effort
and almost unreasonable consistency.
It is the little steps what create the journey. It is those
millions of water drops that shape the sea.
You must also know that there are going to be moments
when things will probably seem confusing or not as great
as you want them to be. Understand that it is part of the
game and no matter what you MUST remain CONSISTENT.
This is why it is VITAL and INDISPENSABLE to know and
understand your WHY. Your WHY is what is going to fire
you up and give you the strength and motivation to continue.
Finally remember what we’ve been talking about over the
last days: Whatever you focus on CONSISTENTLY, you will
experience in your life.
Before ending this post, I would like an exercise for you,
- 1. go grab a pen and paper
- 2. Take 15 minutes to write down there all of the things
you want to achieve. If it makes it easier take 5 minutes to
write your personal goals, financial goals and business/career goals.
- Once you finish doing that, take an extra 3 minutes to add
a set time for each goal like, the ones you want to achieve
within the next 1, 2, 5, 10 or 20 years.
Remember, You are capable of achieving anything you want 🙂
See you tomorrow 🙂
